Vancouver Housing Prices will Continue to Rise in 2018

2018 sets the stage for increased construction of Vancouver housing.

Affordable options in the Metro Vancouver housing marketing continues to be a problem for a significant portion of the population. An increase in market demand calls for better housing opportunities across the district. ENM Construction Management consistently looks for opportunities to partner with different organizations to build housing opportunities for the people in Vancouver.

The State of Housing in Vancouver

Developer groups in Metro Vancouver urge the mass re-zoning of single-family neighborhoods to accommodate higher-density residential. Along with the mass re-zoning suggestion, there is also the call for regional housing strategy that will provide more homes for more people. This raises the need for more high-rise apartments, townhomes, multi-family low-rises, and rowhomes.

According to the BC Real Estate Association, Vancouver's housing prices are expected to rise this year. The market will have higher interest rates and tighter mortgage qualification requirements. Housing areas in Vancouver could also be highly vulnerable due to price acceleration and overvaluation, thus increasing the demand for affordable housing in Vancouver.

ENM Construction's Affordable Housing Project

ENM Construction Management takes well-planned steps to addressing the housing needs of people in Canada by partnering with other organizations, or development their own projects in the Upper Fraser Valley.

ENM Construction Management partnered with the Habitat for Humanity to address the need for affordable rental houses. The Briskham project aims to provide housing opportunities for 19 families who have qualified the Habitat for Humanity's assistance. The project features 1,500 sqft - 2000 sqft, two and three bedroom layouts. Most units also include side-by-side double garages, providing bigger space for large households.

The 19 unit townhome located in Cedar Valley Connector in Mission is expected to be available early 2019.

ENM Construction has plans for more projects in the coming years to help provide community members with better housing opportunities at an affordable price.
